Question 3 evaluation

Question 2 evaluation

For this question I used word document...

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Initially I thought it would be wise to include girls on the front cover seeing as 90% of my audience shall be girls. However, I thought it would make more sense for boys to have the front cover because that appeals to egotistic males and females will read it anyway. Deciding how to expand my content to attract various social groups was difficult not to mention the staff and parents.

In order to represent particular social groups (mainly sixth form) I wanted to make the magazine look sophisticated, therefore, I did not put bright exaggerating colours into the colour scheme, I kept it as simple as black and white(literally). This means no social groups are targeted or represented in colour scheme which I think in a way my magazine welcomes all social groups.

Seeing as the main image was of boys and sports related I knew I would have to include features such as cover lines to open up to a wider target audience. My cover lines do include more topics which opens up to more social groups (UCAS / Career Guidance) but I feel I didn’t add enough of a range. I know to fix this in my main task.

Although I could have did more to attract multiple social groups it was difficult, according to my magazine sixth forms are my main audience so I knew I had to appeal to mainly them. It was difficult trying to appeal to sixth form and the social groups that coincide with them.
